PROXIES Begins With a Confession and a Question

A man walks into a police station ready to confess—but in PROXIES, that startling opening is only the first move in a much larger game. The official teaser promises a mind-bending thriller built around an impossible murder, where every new revelation threatens to reshape what the audience thinks it knows. The film arrives on Netflix on December 11; its official teaser offers a first look at the mystery without giving away the pieces that make it tick.

Oriol Paulo Knows How to Bend the Truth

The premise is a natural fit for director Oriol Paulo, whose work has made deception, shifting perspectives, and carefully planted revelations part of his signature. His Netflix thriller The Innocent and the film God’s Crooked Lines both invite viewers to question what they see and who they can trust. That track record gives PROXIES an intriguing foundation: the confession may be clear, but the truth behind it sounds anything but. Paulo’s earlier puzzle-box film The Invisible Guest offers another hint at the kind of tightly controlled suspense he can bring to the story.

A Cast Built for a Dangerous Game

The film brings together Eduard Fernández, Mario Casas, Blanca Suárez, Nicolás Francella, and Alexandra Jiménez—a cast with plenty of room for uneasy alliances and competing accounts of events. Fernández and Casas lead a lineup that points toward a character-driven mystery, not simply a race to identify a killer. The actors’ credits can be explored through IMDb’s Eduard Fernández listings and Mario Casas listings, while Netflix’s title page confirms the ensemble at the center of the new thriller.

PROXIES Keeps the Biggest Clues Just Out of Reach

For now, the teaser’s most compelling hook is the gap between what the man admits and what his confession sets in motion. That tension gives PROXIES the makings of a satisfying mystery: a police-station encounter that opens onto a wider scheme, and a murder that appears to defy explanation. Viewers drawn to twist-heavy thrillers can keep an eye on the film’s Netflix listing and revisit Netflix’s official channel for updates. With Paulo at the helm, the central question may not be who is telling the truth, but how many versions of it are already in play.
