An initial child abuse inquiry quickly escalates into a murder investigation when Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) are called in to look into the death of a teen’s (Jonathan Bennett) father. While the boy’s stepmother works to protect him, she makes a shocking choice as she desperately attempts to hide the darker secret she knows about the true murderer.(Season 4 Episode 2)

Working for Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek, ”Law & Order”), the unit is charged with investigating cases considered particularly especially heinous. Their dogged pursuits are paired with auniquespecial level of concern and sympathy for the victims. Each episode features new crimes puzzles to solve, and new victims to avenge and as well as new emotional personal struggles for the detectives handling this emotionally draining taxing job.
