Six One Indie May Showcase
Join us on May 21st, 2026 at 11:50 AM ET / 8:50 AM PT for 61 indie games in 93 minutes!
We’ve got world premieres, debut trailers, and a bunch of awesome indie games from all over the world; some you’ve been waiting for, and plenty you haven’t even heard of yet.
The Six One Indie Showcase was created to give indie developers a platform, especially those who might not have the resources to break into the traditional showcase scene. What started as a scrappy passion project has grown into a professionally produced event, and seven showcases later, our mission hasn’t changed. No paywalls, no barriers: just a spotlight for indie devs to take center stage and shine.
Zero barriers. Zero ads spots. Zero nonsense. Just games.
Six One Indie May Showcase
As spring folds into early summer, the Six One Indie May Showcase stands as a deliberate beacon for independent artists who are shaping the next wave of cultural conversation. This event gathers a carefully selected slate of musicians, filmmakers, writers, visual artists, and multidisciplinary collaborators, all bound by a shared commitment to originality and community-driven storytelling. The showcase offers more than a performance or exhibition; it is a concentrated incubation of ideas, skills, and networks that empower artists to reach new audiences while inviting attendees to participate in the journey from concept to audiences’ embrace.
Curators for the May edition have spoken of a deliberate openness—an invitation to both well-established independent circles and promising newcomers who bring fresh perspectives to the table. The resulting program balances consistency with surprise, weaving together intimate live performances, short-form screenings, and interactive installations. Attendees can expect an evening that flows like a curated mixtape: tracks and scenes that resonate on different emotional registers, yet cohere through a shared ethos of authenticity, craft, and risk-taking.
Musically, the roster highlights genre-fluid acts that defy easy categorization. Each performer arrives with a distinct voice, grounded in rigorous practice and a desire to push sonic boundaries. The live setting is enhanced by thoughtful sound design and a venue layout that fosters close connection between artist and audience. Beyond the stage, the program features visual and multimedia components that translate the themes of each performance into a tactile, immersive experience—from projection art that evolves with the tempo of a set to kinetic installations that invite audience participation.
Among the filmmakers and writers participating, there is an emphasis on short-form storytelling that prioritizes economy, insight, and texture. Narratives are crafted to be both provocative and accessible, inviting repeat viewing and discussion. The cohesive thread across the program is a commitment to craft: meticulous attention to editing, composition, and pacing; deliberate sound design; and the purposeful layering of elements that reward attentive audiences.
The event also serves as a professional crossroads: a place to network, collaborate on new projects, and explore licensing, distribution, and funding avenues that support independent work. Short format talks and panel discussions provide practical guidance on building an audience, sustaining creative practice, and navigating the evolving landscape of independent arts in a crowded media environment. These conversations are designed to be actionable, offering each participant a toolkit they can apply to their own work in real time.
Accessibility and inclusion are woven into the fabric of the May Showcase. The organizers emphasize affordable access, inclusive programming, and accommodations designed to enable broad participation. Community partners contribute resources, scholarships, and outreach that extend the event’s impact beyond the audience inside the venue. The result is a celebration of talent that also models a collaborative, equitable approach to independent art-making.
For artists, attendees, and industry professionals alike, Six One Indie May Showcase represents more than a single night of entertainment. It is a catalyst—a moment when independent voices converge, audience perceptions are refreshed, and new collaborations begin. Those who attend often leave with a sense of renewed purpose, a slate of fresh impressions, and a few new contacts to carry into the next chapter of their creative journeys.
In short, the Six One Indie May Showcase is a forward-looking festival experience that honors craft, champions diverse voices, and nurtures the connections that sustain independent art. As programs take shape and schedules finalize, the anticipation among artists and audiences alike grows into a shared confidence: that the work being presented is not just for today, but for the ongoing conversations that will define tomorrow’s cultural landscape.
