A quiet wait with a restless edge
On “Waiting,” SHOSH turns a familiar feeling—holding back until the right moment—into the center of a deep-dubstep release for Monstercat Uncaged. The lyrics circle around deception, credit, and the urge to prove oneself, giving the track a pointed emotional premise rather than a vague mood. That tension fits neatly within Monstercat’s genre-spanning catalogue, while SHOSH’s artist profile on Spotify offers a path into more of the producer’s work.
SHOSH makes restraint part of the hook
The repeated promise of waiting for a moment to prove something gives the song its dramatic engine. Instead of presenting patience as peaceful, the words make it feel loaded: every repetition holds a little more anticipation, until the blunt final turn—“Wait” followed by “Go”—suggests a release from all that restraint. It’s an economical lyrical arc, and one that suits deep dubstep’s pull between space and impact. Deception, credit, and the moment of truth
“Reveal your true intentions” and “Take credit where it’s due” make the track’s conflict unusually direct. The narrator isn’t simply waiting for an opportunity; the lyrics suggest a grievance that has been accumulating while someone else keeps up an appearance. That gives SHOSH’s writing a sharp, almost confrontational streak, balanced by the track’s central theme of delayed payoff. The result leaves room for listeners to bring their own stories to the song, whether they arrive through Apple Music or keep up with the artist through SHOSH’s Instagram.
Another angle in Monstercat’s Uncaged world
As a release under Uncaged, “Waiting” sits within Monstercat’s heavier-facing lane, a natural home for a track whose lyrics build toward a decisive snap. The label’s broader identity is built on moving across electronic styles, so each release can bring a different shade of energy to its community. For anyone following that ongoing mix, Monstercat Uncaged is the place to find the label’s series, while the Monstercat Discord offers a space for fans to share reactions and discover what listeners are picking up in the music.
