Scream (1996) Flashback Review

The genre redefining Wes Craven classic Scream turns 30 this year, so what better reason to take a good, long look at the legacy of the slasher classic and, because the movie predates us by just a bit, give the film it’s first official IGN review score. In our first Flashback Review, IGN’s Clint Gage digs into what the movie did to the horror genre when it first came out, how the camera work is the real hero of the opening scene and the surprising character who might be the key to the whole thing working. Then Clint is joined by fellow head of entertainment reviews, Scott Collura, to talk about Scream’s lasting impact, why Wes Craven’s New Nightmare was the right idea for the wrong story and how Scream’s sequels carried the torch for the original.
