PlayStation’s New Ads Are Bringing Back PS2-Era Weirdness – Beyond Clips

Sony has a long history of bizarre marketing for PlayStation, with some of the most memorable being David Lynch’s nightmarish PS2 commercials. The latest PlayStation ad campaign leans on the slogan “It Happens on PS5,” but then proceeds to show off people in extraordinary situations that we can’t recall ever actually… happening in PS5 games? Still, it’s a fun way of selling the escapism of gaming, and as weird as it is, it’s a lot less confusing than Xbox’s current habit of saying everything is an Xbox, including Xboxes, but also a bunch of stuff that isn’t an Xbox.
