Grand Theft Auto 6, when it eventually arrives, is going to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in human history. And despite having been a massive fan of the series since all the way back in 1997, I’m dreading it. When GTA 6 got delayed to November, it felt like a godsend for everyone not planning to release anything in November. But that was a mere reprieve. Whenever it hits, it’s going to cause endless discussion and debate about all the usual stuff: violence in video games, too woke, not progressive enough, best game ever, it’s bad actually, reams and reams of all you can eat discourse. You can no doubt already see the thumbnails in your mind’s eye. There was a very silly rumour recently that publisher 2K might cancel GTA 6 altogether… and it’s hard not to wonder if that would ultimately be for the best.

GTA 6 cancelled? GTA 6 delayed again? Will GTA 6 ever come out? Almost certainly. Will it please anyone on the internet? Absolutely not.
