Night City rarely lets a story end quietly. The music video for “High Forever (Marlon Hoffstadt Remix)” pushes that idea into the spotlight, pairing the neon-soaked world of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 with a propulsive electronic pulse. Its teaser line—“So this is it. The climax of your story. Isn’t it?”—sets an ominous mood, while the remix suggests a city that keeps moving even when its residents are running out of road. The new series is a standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077, now streaming on Netflix. The wider universe began with CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk, where ambition and danger have always shared the same electric glow.
A New Crew Finds Its Rhythm in Night City
Rather than retracing the exact path of the first anime, Edgerunners 2 introduces a fresh crew of misfits and a new standalone tale. That shift gives the follow-up room to explore another corner of Night City, where survival can mean finding a place among people as volatile and vulnerable as oneself. The series reunites CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, a pairing that brings together the game’s dense cyberpunk setting and the animation studio’s expressive visual sensibility. Fans can revisit the setting through the official Cyberpunk site and discover more about the studio behind the anime at Studio Trigger.

Why the Marlon Hoffstadt Remix Hits Differently
A remix can do more than provide a soundtrack; it can recast the emotional temperature of a story. Marlon Hoffstadt’s electronic treatment gives “High Forever” a club-ready momentum, turning the title’s promise of elevation into something that feels both exhilarating and precarious. That tension suits Night City’s neon-noir identity, where every rush of possibility comes with a cost. The track stands as a companion piece to the series rather than a plot summary, inviting listeners to sink into the atmosphere before—or after—watching on Netflix. Hoffstadt’s work can be explored through his Beatport artist page.
Edgerunners Keeps the Cyberpunk World in Motion
The appeal of Edgerunners has always rested on more than chrome, speed, and spectacle. Its world is built around people trying to make meaning in a system designed to consume them, and the sequel’s new cast opens another route into that conflict. As a standalone story, the second season can welcome newcomers while still drawing on the themes and visual language that made the Cyberpunk universe distinctive. The anime arrives from Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red, with the music video offering a brisk, high-voltage invitation back to the city.
The Climax Is Only the Beginning
That question about the climax lingers because Night City rarely offers clean endings. The remix’s forward drive makes the city feel less like a backdrop than a force of its own—one that keeps the lights blazing while new lives and new disasters unfold beneath them. For returning fans, Edgerunners 2 promises a fresh set of faces and fresh chaos; for newcomers, its 10-episode standalone format offers a clear entry point into a richly imagined world. The series is available on Netflix, while more music from the project can be found through the Edgerunners 2 album collection.
