In Deck of Haunts, you don't enter the haunted house. You are the haunted house.
By day, construct your mansion, placing rooms and twisting corridors into a deadly labyrinth. Build your deck with cards designed to generate fear, inflict damage and manipulate the humans foolish enough to step inside. When night falls, visitors enter your domain and the haunting begins.
Use supernatural cards to torment your guests, trigger traps, exploit their fears and drive them toward insanity or death. Drain their essence to fuel your growing power. At the center of your mansion lies your Heart. Protect it at all costs. If the humans reach it and destroy it, your reign of terror comes to an end.
Expand your mansion, discover new cards, unlock increasingly powerful tools and refine your strategy. Every new room changes the paths humans can take, while different decks, creatures, upgrades, missions and game modes open new approaches to creating the perfect house of horrors.

In the world of PlayStation 5 exclusives and augmented eerie atmospheres, Deck of Haunts emerges as a standout trailer that promises a meticulously crafted blend of suspense, strategy, and spectral storytelling. The launch trailer for this title sets a tone that is both alluring and ominous, inviting players to step into a realm where cards, curses, and cornered choices determine the course of the night.
From the opening seconds, Deck of Haunts distinguishes itself with a cinematic sensibility that feels at once intimate and expansive. A dimly lit table, the click of cards being shuffled, and the subtle creak of wood underfoot establish an immediate sense of place. The visuals lean into high-contrast shadows and careful color grading, evoking a Victorian parlour meets modern nightmare where every suit and face seems to carry a whispered warning. This isn’t just a card battler; it’s a narrative deckbuilder that uses deck construction as a conduit for atmosphere and tension.
Crucially, the trailer foregrounds the paradox at the heart of the game: strategy and storytelling are inseparable. Each card drawn isn’t merely a means to diminish an opponent’s resources; it’s a potential key to unlock a story fragment, a clue about the haunting, or a decision that reshapes the fate of the character you’re guiding. The pacing of the trailer ensures momentum without sacrificing the weight of consequence—an early signal that the PS5 version’s performance promises tactile feedback, precise haptics, and fluid animations that heighten the sense of presence.
The sound design complements the visuals with deliberate restraint. Subtle ambient textures—soft rain, distant thunder, the faint rustle of parchment—coalesce into a sonic backdrop that never overwhelms the core gameplay cues. When interaction occurs, the audio punctuations are crisp: a card snapping to the table, the mirror-like gleam of a surface, a breath held in suspense. Together, they craft a sonic palette that anchors the player in a world where every choice could unleash a haunting consequence.
Narratively, Deck of Haunts positions itself as a collection of interwoven hauntings, each tied to a card’s identity and the player’s progression. The trailer hints at a roster of enigmatic characters and lingering legends, with the deck acting as a portal between past regrets and present decisions. Thematically, the game appears to explore accountability, memory, and the slippery edge between triumph and trespass—an invitation to play responsibly while leaning into the thrill of the uncanny.
Visually, the PS5 trailer leans into texture and tactility. Hand-animated sequences, rich material cues, and a deliberate use of glow and bloom signal a world where magic feels grounded, not gratuitous. The interface is framed to emphasize clarity of card mechanics while preserving the mystique of arcane symbolism. This balance suggests a game that rewards careful planning and keen observation—traits that are prized in both strategy lovers and story-focused players.
For players considering a dive into Deck of Haunts, the launch trailer offers a compact, high-signal preview: expect a thoughtful blend of card-based strategy, atmospheric horror, and narrative curiosity, all rendered with a commitment to performance that takes advantage of the PS5’s capabilities. The cinematic pacing, combined with tactile feedback and immersive sound design, positions the title as a compelling early entry into a season of games that seek to fuse gameplay with haunting storytelling.
In sum, the Deck of Haunts launch trailer not only teases a unique gameplay loop but also establishes a mood and promise. It signals a game where every draw is a decision, every choice a step deeper into the maze of memories and murmured legends. For players drawn to cards, suspense, and a world that rewards both strategic foresight and attentive listening, this trailer is more than a teaser—it’s a map of what awaits on the PS5.
