ModRetro has officially announced a new Chromatic title, Buddy: The Video Game, a survival horror title based on the film Buddy, arriving in theaters August 28th from Roadside Attractions and Saban Films. Developed by playinstinct and published by ModRetro, the game is targeted for release in Q4 2026 on the ModRetro Chromatic and is fully compatible with the Game Boy Color.

The film Buddy premiered in the Midnight section at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and reaches the North American theaters on August 28th. It stars Keegan-Michael Key as Buddy, alongside Cristin Milioti, Topher Grace, Michael Shannon, and Patton Oswalt, from a screenplay by Casper Kelly and Jamie King.
