14th century Italy: a new saint arises. The Pope wants her head on a platter. The city-state leaders cower in fear of being the next targets of the cursing nuns, drunk singers, or whatever motley crew the saint has assembled. Will you advocate for pacifism, or lead your cult as a Machiavellian noble? Choose your tenets, select your units, and harness the religious fervor of your followers to convert and conquer as many city-states as possible, paving your way to Sainthood, or die trying.
