Hands On With PlayStation's New Fight Stick, Gaming Monitor, & Speakers
We had the chance to sit down and play with PlayStation's newest hardware, the FlexStrike Fight Stick, 27-Inch Gaming Monitor, and Pulse Elevate Speakers. The FlexStrike Fight Stick is the first ever first party fight stick from Sony that works on both PlayStation 5 and PC wired or wireless. Built from the ground up with the FGC in mind, the FlexStrike is a comfortable, sleek, and modern fight stick for players of all skill levels. The buttons are clicky and the stick is customizible, and its easy to carry around, and if you REALLY wanted to, you could use it as a normal PlayStation 5 controller. The 27-Inch Gaming Monitor is a monitor developed by Sony for use with PlayStation 5 and PC. It features a 2560 x 1440 resolution and up to 240 Hz as well as a built-in charging hook for a PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller. And finally, we took a look at PlayStation's Pulse Elevate Speakers which feature incredible sound and microphones so you can chat with teammates without needing to wear a bulky headset.

In the evolving landscape of competitive gaming, Sony's latest trio of peripherals aims to blend precision, immersion, and accessibility into a cohesive setup. This hands-on look examines the new Fight Stick, Gaming Monitor, and Speakers, analyzing how they perform together and individual strengths that could influence a player's daily routine, from training sessions to casual matches.
Fight Stick: Precision, Comfort, and Responsiveness The new fight stick prioritizes a tactile, measured input experience. The stick itself offers a crisp throw with a satisfying resistance that rewards quick, decisive motions without introducing fatigue over long sessions. The buttons are positioned for optimal reach, reducing finger fatigue during extended practice. Build quality feels substantial yet balanced in weight, suggesting durability under regular tournament use.
Key takeaways: - Quick, repeatable inputs with a confident tactile bump on each press - Ergonomics designed for marathon practice sessions without sacrificing speed - A robust, all-metal chassis that belies its compact footprint
Connectivity and compatibility with modern fighters are strong points. The device pairs seamlessly with supported consoles and PC via USB-C, delivering low latency that aligns with on-screen reactions. For players who perform frame-perfect moves or rely on precise timing windows, the latency profile is competitive with top-tier stand-alone fighting sticks in its class.
Monitoring the Visual Pulse: The New Gaming Monitor The accompanying gaming monitor is calibrated for high-velocity gameplay, with a focus on motion clarity and color accuracy. A fast refresh rate and low input lag create a responsive feel that translates into reliable hit detection and smoother animation. The monitor’s panel choice balances vivid color reproduction with subtle grayscale gradients—helpful for perceiving enemy silhouettes and subtle cues in fast-paced titles.
Highlights include: - High refresh rate (120Hz or greater) with adaptive sync to minimize tearing - Low input lag that keeps timing windows intact during aggressive combos - Color calibration presets designed for fighting games and general-purpose use
The stand and ergonomics are thoughtfully designed, enabling quick height and tilt adjustments to match a player’s preferred posture. This flexibility reduces neck strain during long sessions and makes multi-hour practice blocks more sustainable.
Audio Immersion: The New Speakers Raising the ceiling on in-room audio, the speakers aim to deliver a balanced soundstage with clear dialog, precise midrange presence, and sufficiently tight bass for a convincing environmental wrap without overwhelming the listener. For fighting and competitive multiplayer, canny audio cues—footsteps, weapon reloads, environmental interactions—are easier to discern when the speakers are tuned to a neutral, non-fatiguing profile.
Practical considerations: - Clear, uncolored mids and highs that preserve vocal clarity during team comms - Subtle bass that adds impact without muddying the overall mix - Wide sweet spot and consistent performance across a typical living room setup
Putting It All Together: A Cohesive Setup When integrating the Fight Stick, Monitor, and Speakers, the synergy becomes apparent. The combination supports a focused practice regime, where precise input hardware is complemented by a monitor that renders motion with clarity and a speaker system that anchors the room with balanced acoustics. For players who value consistency across training and playtime, the trio offers a stable foundation that scales from casual sessions to more serious practice routines.
Setup tips for optimal performance: - Calibrate the monitor with a dedicated gaming profile to ensure color accuracy and motion clarity match your preferred fighting games - Fine-tune in-game audio settings to preserve cue detection while avoiding listener fatigue over extended play - Spend time adjusting the fight stick’s throw and button actuation to your personal rhythm; small adjustments can yield meaningful improvements in input consistency
Final thoughts: value, realism, and future-proofing This lineup stands out by emphasizing reliable performance and ergonomic comfort. For players seeking to upgrade beyond generic peripherals, the focus on low-latency inputs, responsive display, and well-balanced audio can translate into tangible on-screen improvements. The real strength lies in how these components complement one another, creating a turnkey environment that supports consistency, practice efficiency, and a more immersive competitive experience.
